A sucker born every minute. And she has nothing but time.
2008
Performance, video, video stills
The video, video stills, and performances presented below are a part of a larger body of work that examines the influence of boredom on interpretation and understanding of the self. Inspired by lines from the poem "Old Dolls" by Boston poet William Barnum ("A sucker born every minute. And she has nothing but time"), this series of performances explores a range of emotions that span from self-depreciation and sexual frustration to peaceful transcendence and self-satisfaction. This work is still in progress.
